Rotary Device

Rotary Devices: Many of our customers utilize our rotary devices to engrave and customize many different products. They are extremely helpful when engraving cups, mugs, glasses, tumblers, and most cylindrical objects. They operate by translating the y-axis from lateral movement to rotational movement. The most common problems that customers come across is the product slipping while on the rotary device, causing obscurities in the engraving. The most common causes of this are the speed being set too high, which is easily remedied, or uneven weight distribution. When objects have severe uneven weight distribution, such as a mug with a very heavy handle, it is prone to slip as the weight and gravity resist rotation. Many users remedy this issue by placing weights inside of the object, to distribute the weight more evenly, and provide uniform rotation. This practice also helps prevent movement such as wobbling and slipping if an object is too light, as the additional weight provides the friction necessary for smooth rotation. It is also important to maintain a level engraving surface to ensure that the laser beam remains in focus as it travels back and forth along the X-axis.
