Flow Switch Documentation

The flow switch is the component which detects the water flow within a system. It returns a signal once water flow is detected. It receives the initial voltage from the laser power supply, and returns the signal to the controller WP1 channel on the CN5 junction.

Flow switch

The flow switch has two main components regarding sending a signal; the magnet mechanism and the wires to complete the circuit. The flow pushes the magnet in place to then activate the signal to the water protect on the controller. This was verified by Tong Li himself, as he disassembled a flow switch to look at the internals.

Thus, another way to fix a flow switch is to adjust the wires position depending if the moving component does not move a lot due to debris. You can do so by adjusting the wire position either more to the left or more to the right. This will allow for contact between the wires and the magnetic component to send the signal to the controller.

As flow is introduced to the flow switch, it moves the magnetic component under both signal wires to complete the circuit, and send a signal back to the controller for water protection.
