Alignment and Focus

Alignment and Focus: Many customers face difficulty troubleshooting problems related to image quality and consistency. This is because while these issues are sometimes caused by problems with power and speed settings, they can also be a result of improper alignment or beam focus. The biggest indicator of an improper alignment is a lack of uniformity in the image. This being the left side of an image engraving deeper or darker than the right side, for example. This can be remedied by aligning your laser beam regularly to ensure it is performing consistently and properly. Another common issue is inconsistent image quality due to the laser beam not being focused on the target surface. In order to engrave and cut optimally, the target must be inside of the laser’s optimal focal range, which is determined by the distance from the laser lens to the engraving surface. This is a common issue when engraving on curved surfaces and must be taken into consideration when leveling both the machine and the product you are working with.
